This webinar is hosted for free by the Learning with FASD team for secondary school teaching and support staff. This webinar will share how we developed the new secondary school resources and how they can be used by teaching and support staff.

Supporting adolescents with FASD: Tips for secondary educators

Taking a deep dive into resources for educators, FASD Hub Australia and Learning with FASD team up to present evidence-based tools and approaches for the secondary classroom. Recent Australian prevalence data on FASD suggests as many as 1 in 28, or a child in every classroom, may have or be at risk of FASD. Longitudinal studies show that young people with FASD who do not receive appropriate support have a higher risk of disrupted education, mental health issues, contact with the justice system, and harmful substance use. FASD-informed teachers and educators are critical to the provision of early and appropriately tailored support for people with FASD in school communities.
